WATER

"LIGHT IS INFORMATIVE, NARRATIVE AND PERFORMATIVE".

After following weekly the demonstrations in 2019 against the crisis climate, the desire to work on light design and ecological restrictions has emerged strongly in my personal interests. Witnessing as a dancer-performer the anti-ecological aspects that an artistic creation can exploit, the desire to undertake research on light design with the bare necessaries appeared to me essential as an investigation and laboratory.

In 2019, the creation of the first part of this trilogy begins leading to the creation of the first opus co-signed with the sound designer José Fernandez Ruiz "break.in.two" which will be programmed in the GXII festival at P.A.R.T.S.

In 2020, involved in the Norrdans Company, I decided to start the second opus as a research project. Orchestrated around a light installation, the research I am part of is focused on how to make light a co-performer. Interacting between a space and various materials such as water, mirror and wood, the performer is in a permanent dialogue whose ultimate interest is to get immersed in a quest for aestheticism. Answering to the following thematic question : « How do architectural features linked to light design and body interact with each other ? ».

Approached in August 2020 as an artistic practice around a solo at the Norrdans Company space, "in.through.WATER" had the opportunity to expand into a group project during a Norrdans-commissioned shoot in December 2020.
