In the Icelandic fjord, Seyðisfjörður, a glass cube is arranged as an installation where different painting exhibitions alternate during the year.

Alban OVANESSIAN occupies the space and proposes a choreographic reflection on the imbrication between the social relations of sex and gender, by giving his.their own version of hedonism: a non-normative identity where gender occupies a central but non-hierarchical place.

While researching this topic, an intense storm fell on to the city, putting the houses on alert and leaning the inhabitants to barricade themselves for several days. The glass installation, weighing more than 230kg, overturned and dragged several meters by the wind from, the windows are broken and the work exposed inside has been carried away.

The cube no longer looks like a proper exhibition space, but more like a place where an act of vandalism and revolution have interacted hand in hand. Confronted with the reality of the situation, Alban Ovanessian understands that this scenography has never been so adequate to formulate the following argument :

DECONSTRUCTION IS CONSTRUCTION.

Following this experience, Alban OVANESSIAN extends this reflection by investing various performative arts and research places in order to propose new constructions of gender, recognized as living bodies with full rights.

From the escape of this cube, seen as a metaphor for a "political cage", rearranged into a construction site where the human body becomes the architectural element in construction/deconstruction and the laborer, how to build and rebuild a fictional artefact necessary for the survival of queerness deliberate from oppression and ostracism ?
