break.in.two
"PERHAPS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE, BROKEN THINGS".
In a darkness where the silhouettes are barely perceptible, José Fernandez Ruiz and Alban Ovanessian propose an indivisible light-sound interaction in which the sounds of the lighting installation provided by creases and broken mirrors are proposed to the sound installation.
Recorded as a basic support, the magnetic tape that preserves it is a physical support that the sound designer/maker mashes up, cuts, processes until the birth of this aesthetic and hypnotic illustration established by the two performers.
This concomitance, maintained by the harmonization between the reverberation of light and the tinkling of sounds, evokes both auditory and visual perception. The space where this audio-visual experience stand turns into a dark concert room, alternating restraint and chaos.
Psychedelic effects in harmony with music tinged with rhythms and nuances lead to the following reflection : and if the broken things were in the end the most interesting thing in our era where the quest for perfection dominates all aesthetics ?
